Clark's Family Wine

Since we live on a farm that has over 32 fruit trees, we decided to venture into making some wine. As Mrs. Clark picked plums, Mr. Clark took them to the root cellar to rest until the wine making process could begin.

Wine making was a family event involving the entire family. As Mr. Clark pressed the plums on the cider/fruit press, daughter Clark carefully measured out the sugar. Son helped carrying things and the wine was settled into the root cellar to rest until bottling time.

This is the first bottle of Plum Wine and I must say, it's delicious! The project was a resounding success!

    Our Long Needle Pine

Mrs. Clark works part time off of the farm. Today, as she was leaving for work she noticed what appeared to be a tree down. She sent Mr. Clark a message and after a few landmark directions he located the tree in question. Yep! It was down alright! Sheared off of a nearby tree were the remains of a once staturesque long needle pine. Approximately 25 feet had sheared off of the nearby tree.

Mr. Clark grabbed some chains, his chainsaw, and his beloved tractor and proceeded to pull the poor tree up out of the area it had fallen. He also checked over the rest of the tree that was still standing to ensure that it wasn't in jeopardy of coming down soon. Having apparently served its life purpose, this long needle pine will be limbed up and become firewood for next year. It will be well seasoned by then and lend itself well to our wood supply.
